What a lovely, tranquil place to visit and work on a Sunday morning! It's always interesting to see how other people's veg plots are progressing and yours is certainly very productive. We must be a couple of hundred miles apart but, by and large, our crops are similar. We prefer autumn fruiting rasps but the wind has ruined the crop this year. Our potatoes always get scab even though we practise strict crop rotation and our carrots are attacked each year by something (root fly?) But runner beans, courgettes, leeks and beetroot are generally reliable. Hope you are able to find enough restorative time to recover more fully in the weeks ahead. Vicki
It's in a wee tucked away corner near the town centre. You can hear the church bells. It's just lovely. I'm already planning to put in my winter veg soon :-)
Looking good, and just look at all those lovely leeks to see you through the Winter :-)
Don't worry to much about the messy areas, it's easier to tidy them deeper into Winter when the greenery has died off and you can get in weed a bit easier and cover with old carpet or cardboard or anything to keep out the light. Take time at the moment to look after yourself. xx
The really weedy area will have a shed and decking on it eventually so I'm not too worried about that bit. I'm actually being very selfish and looking after myself really well :-)
It really is therapeutic. We were talking about this today in school and most teachers have been growing some sort of veg and are really pleased with themselves. They wish they'd started sooner and not waited for a pandemic!!
Your allotment is looking good and it sounds like its good for you too! I'm still getting lots of tomatoes in the greenhouse which is brilliant but I've pulled up most of the other stuff now. Take care of yourself. x
I'm sure working at the allotment helps with your sanity.
ReplyDeleteIt really has helped these last few weeks!!
DeleteI can see why you love your allotment thanks for sharing x
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!

ReplyDeleteI hope you can have a good rest!

Just 6 weeks until the Oct break!! (We've been back at school for 4 weeks now)

ReplyDeleteNot had a ripe tomato yet but all mine are outside ones. Probably need to ripen them on a windowsill now xxx
