Free money!

It occurred to me that since I've been using Tesco more in the last few years I should have been accumulating some vouchers.  I logged on to my account and discovered that my Clubcard was still registered to my old address.  That explains why I haven't been getting statements!  Now all updated.  I also discovered that I currently have £13 in vouchers to spend in store!!  Woohoo!

Encouraged by this amount I logged on to my Nectar account and discovered I've also got £22.98 to spend in Sainsbury's!!  It's basically free money as I'd be buying groceries in these supermarkets anyway!

I've also got a £1.50 voucher from Dobbies.  They have Waitrose food there but I'm not sure if I can use it, they do have some exclusions on vouchers.  If not I'll get seeds or a herb plant, still something edible!

That means I have around £35 to add to my supermarket budget just by swiping my loyalty cards.

  2. I cashed in my Nectar points with Sainsbury on-line this week. They then messed up my order and messed me around with my subsequent complaint and after complaining about both mess ups I managed to get £49 groceries for £2.50! As their rivals say, every little helps!

  3. Those little bits each time really can add up. A free week of groceries is definitely not to be sniffed at, for sure. xx

    1. Once upon a time I'd have just 'spent' it on a few luxuries. Now that's at least a full week and a bit's worth of groceries if I'm careful! :-) xxx

  4. That's great! I've been battling Morrisons to try to cash in the points I earnt in their Christmas promotion. It seems that they are very keen to get you to spend money to earn the points, but not so eager to pay out as this is not the first time I have had this problem.

    1. I only got a More card when they were doing their essential workers promotions during the pandemic but I'm rarely in Morrison's as it's the other side of town from me. I don't think I've spent enough yet to earn any points but I'll go check, just in case there's an odd pound or 2 ;-) xxx

  7. That's brilliant, and as you say free money. I have just checked my Sainsbury's Nectar card and seemingly I have almost £35 available to spend. I do need to check up on my Tesco card as since we moved from Wales I rarely shop there and have never had any vouchers sent here.

  8. Great result. Always lovely to earn something from your usual shopping. Double points at the moment with Tesco. I don't spend a lot there, but it all helps.

  9. £5 from Sainsbury’s Nectar points, and I used it for a yellow-stickered foods, a medium sized chicken, a haggis, potatoes and mango slices.
We are using the freezer and pantry stores up, which reduces the weekly grocery bill in winter.
Made £5 in eggs sales so far this month, so the four hens earn their keep, help feed us, and provide inexpensive fresh eggs for our pensioner friends.

  10. A shame the yellow stickered goods aren't possible on deliveries. I can understand why not - it would be an impossible task for the person filling the order.
