Still positive :-(

Luna is still testing positive for giardia.  The vet is genuinely stumped.  I'm gutted.  We're waiting for the vet who treated her at the vet school hospital to give his advice.  But in the mean time she still can't mix with other dogs including Emma, who fortunately tested negative.  More costs for future tests and meds but most importantly she still can't go to puppy classes or puppy day care.  That is having a huge impact on her social development as there's nothing worse than a dog who can't behave around other dogs.

  1. It would be interesting to know if any of the other pups from Luna’s litter are suffering as she is and the breeder could then be expected to meet some of your costs. I had to stop drinking caffeine at all after my stomach problems and now have decaff which is not the same but definitely kinder to my stomach. Catriona

    1. The breeder says none of the other pups have it and I have no way of disproving it. She initially offered to pay for the Pancur first time round but that's only £22. We're fast approaching £5K in costs now. Ah well, that's what emergency savings are for I guess. Suspect caffeine is an issue for me so will probably need to cut it out all together. I'd rather do that than take medication though :-)

  2. Oh no Ali, that's awful, how terribly frustrating for you (and blimmin expensive!). I hope the vet school hospital can come up with something.

  4. I so hope that Luna is still testing positive. I hope the vets find something to help very soon.

    God bless.

  5. Have you been tested? That could be part of the cycle? Helen

    1. My doctor's surgery were very sceptical when I asked for a test but I think I'll ask again. Worth a shot :-)
