January, brrrr!

This made me laugh as the weather this week has been cold, damp, frosty and windy, usually all before 9am.  Typical for January here.  Higher up ground had some snow, even OH who lives just 7 miles from me had a covering last night!  None here (yet!)

I've just spent half an hour tidying up the back garden and my fingers are frozen despite wearing warm gloves.  Brrrrr!!!  Emma (dog) and Penny (chicken) were watching and following me with interest.  It was like they knew something would be happening later 😉😉😉

OH and I are having a rare night out tonight to see Craig Hill (a Scottish comedian) at our local theatre.  I'm not a huge fan but he can be funny if I'm in the mood.  I'm finding I have to force myself to go out as I'd much rather stay at home these days.  Not sure if it's just because it's winter or an age thing 😕

Stay warm and safe wherever you are!

P.S.  'weans' and 'bairns' are Scottish words for children 😄

  1. I do think the snow is coming and will result in the usual chaos no doubt. I’m
Iike you and have to force myself out of an evening. We were in Leeds on Monday and I was most disgruntled to discover I had to put on my outdoor gear to go for dinner. Lovely it was too. Trying to find where my crafting mojo has gone, but it’s awol nonetheless. Enjoy your night out-I know what you mean about being in the mood to enjoy a comedian’s humour.

  2. Lots of snow here and really cold. -17C this morning but has 'warmed' up to -12C at the moment, I was shoveling snow on the driveway yesterday and a bobcat walked by me about 10 feet away. He just looked at me and carried on his way. I didn't see him but DH did through the window. If I'd have seen him I would have been into the house in a flash!!

  3. You are right, it's so easy to stay home in the warm, I often can find a reason no to go out, and here in the South, it's no where near as cold as where you are. Maybe I'm just the typical soft southern.

    1. I think it's just common sense to stay in the warmth during the Winter months ;-) xxx

  4. I'm not good at going out at night now either, although I usually have a great time once I'm there! We were up at my mum and dads on Friday night which is a 15 minute walk from my own house, but uphill, and they had loads of snow on the ground and when we got home again, there wasn't a drop! Its winter and the press seem determined to declare a national emergency around the weather! I'm glad you enjoyed your night out. x

    1. You're so right about the press predicting another 'Beast from the East!' It's Winter and it always snows at some point.

It was a good night out but I'm suffering today after just 2 glasses of wine!!!! xxx

  5. They have forecast a lot of snow this weekend where we live. I said to my ten year-old that we had better shop thursday and stay home this weekend. He made a shout of joy and exclaimed "I can play with lego" 😊 Pam in Norway
