Meet Luna my new puppy! She's a 4 week old Silver Labrador and she's utterly beautiful π She's still with her mum and 6 brothers and sisters so I get to bring her home next month. Silver labs are a dilution of the chocolate lab gene. Not that common here yet. My very first lab was a chocolate and she was bonkers so I'm prepared for Luna being a character!
It's not a decision I've made lightly. But given recent events my sons told me that life's too short and I'm a person who needs to have a dog. They give you a reason to get up in the morning and they make you get outside in all weathers. And a dog's love is unconditional πΎπ
So happy for you with your new companion. Looking forward to lots of photos once she arrives at her forever home.
ReplyDeleteLOL! There will be a lot of photos!!! :-)
DeleteShe's gorgeous. We've got a 14wk old black lab - still in the nipping phase - hopefully not much longer!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I remember the nipping phase well!! :-)
DeleteAaaah what a beautiful girl, I have never seen a silver lab. Hope Emma will like her new doggie friend. I agree with you about a dogs love being unconditional x
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'd never seen a Silver lab either. I was looking for a black lab and I found this breeder just 10 mins from me :-)
DeleteOh, she is gorgeous. Just beautiful. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm totally smitten :-) xxx
DeleteLucky Luna to come and live with you and Emma. She will certainly keep you fit and you’ll meet lots of people as you walk this enchanting puppy. Catriona
ReplyDeleteKeeping myself fit was a big part of the decision. Emma can't walk very far because of her arthritis so I'm out of the way of long-ish dog walks. My boys were concerned that when I lose Emma I wouldn't be happy without a dog by my side especially with all the medical stuff around mum. I can't wait to get her! :-)
DeleteAww ... she is beautiful. I have never heard of a silver lab before, my son has a black one and a red, the silver colour is beautiful. Emma will learn to love her sooner than you think. Lots of fun days ahead. xx
ReplyDeleteI'd never heard of them either but when I saw them I just knew they were the one!! Definitely fun times ahead! :-) xxx
DeleteLuna is gorgeous. Life without a dog (or 2) is unbearable! We lasted 72 hours when our last dog passed in mid May this year. We now have a gorgeous rescued Shar Pei called Lucy. She'll never replace Lizzy because they are so different but she's stolen our hearts already.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck with Luna.
Aww, thanks! Whenever I've lost one I've always had at least 1 to come home to. I think my boys were worried about me coming home to an empty house when that time comes. The thing about dogs is that there's always room in our hearts to love more <3 xxx
DeleteShe is beautiful! Yes, life is very short! Enjoy your retirement and Luna! All the new journey's and memories to make, it is so exciting with a new puppy. I hope your Mom is much better today. Belinda
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm very excited to get her soon. Mum is doing well although still in hospital for now :-)
Deletehow lovely! i look forward to many puppy pictures, i hope Emma doesn't mind too much xx
ReplyDeleteThere will be many puppy pictures!!! 11 years ago Emma was the annoying puppy to my old dog Lucy so we're calling it karma!! :-)
Deleteabsolutely gorgeous! I hope you remember better than I did how much hard work puppies are!! But so worth it :D Congratulations! x
ReplyDeleteOh yes!!! Hard work but I have the luxury of time now :-)
DeleteThis is wonderful for you, we have a bonkers honey girl lab - she's been hard work, now 2 years old, but wouldn't be without her :-)
ReplyDeleteAlison in Wales x
Oh yes I know the hard work! I've had a dog in my life for the last 26 years. I grew up with dogs at both my grandparents and then we had our own dogs (Cairn terriers) before I left home. We're just dog people in our family :-)
DeleteShe's gorgeous! My grandson has a chocolate lab puppy also called Luna.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Excellent choice of name ;-)
DeleteBeautiful dog. I have a vet friend who has one as his service dog and she is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Labs are just all round great dogs :-)
DeleteThey are. We had a black lab for years and now have a rescue golden retriever/lab cross. Beautiful temperaments.
DeleteAWWWW! How darling! Bluebell is five already and I ponder should we get another? Then I slap myself sensible again and think good grief NO!
