Less stuff, less work, less expense equals more money, more time, more joy
I love your new plot, is it far from your home? I let the plants in my new plot grow the first year, I was pleasantly surprised by the lovely flavour of the raspberries. Good luck with your potatoes, I've still got more to plant. It will be fun to watch it develope over the season.
Thanks! It's 2.5 miles from my house so not far. At the moment I'm driving there as I have to take all my tools etc with me every time. Once I have a secure shed to leave my tools I'm hoping to cycle as there's a cycle path most of the way :-)
Looks like there was some early rhubarb. Have you picked any yet?
Not yet. They all have a flower bud that I've discovered you need to cut out or it limits the amount of edible stalks it will produce. That's on today's list of jobs :-)
That looks fabulous Ali. You'll be self sufficient in veg soon! I planted my potatoes today, mine are in deep tubs though so I daresay you will have a few more than me!Enjoy. xx
Thanks, I'm working towards being self sufficient in time! I have my earlies in tubs in my own garden but planted some maincrop ones yesterday. I still have late maincrop Arran Victory chitting on my windowsill :-) xxx
How wonderful for you Ali. It looks good. Your voice if gorgeous. Fran in Oz.
Thanks! I used to hate hearing the sound of my own voice but I'm more comfortable with it now :-)
It's a lovely plot, more like a garden than an allotment with that path running down the middle. You will have fun!xx
Thanks! I'm not mad keen on the straight path to be honest but it would be too much work to lift it and it's practical so it stays for now. Only big change I'm making is where I'm putting a shed xxx
