Finally!

Finally, it got started today!  And they're working pretty quickly.  They had all the old stuff ripped out by lunchtime and some of the tiling started.

I decided not to replace the bath as it's a fabulous deep cast iron tub.  It may be original to the house (1967) or from the 70s.  It's actually in very good condition.  We've replaced the taps and plughole so they're modern.  The installer suggested re using some of the panelling taken from the sink cupboard to finish off the bath panel.  Fab bit of recycling!  All I'll need to do is sand and re paint.

I chose white subway tiles, to keep it classic and to make it easy to sell if I have to at some point.  Don't want to put buyers off with my quote "wacky colour schemes." 🙄😂

The shower enclosure has been taken back to the bare bricks.  I'm assuming they're putting in a protective waterproof layer of something before adding the splashwall.  Can you guess what colour I chose???

Not a great photo of the colour but I hope you can see it's shocking pink! 😎

    1. So far I'm happy with the installers' work. They worked 8am to 5pm with about 30 mins for lunch. I was listened to when I asked a few questions, unlike the kitchen installers who appear to have disappeared off into the sunset!!

  3. That pink will really warm the room up.

Glad the installers listened to you when you asked a question. Nothing worse than being ignored.

    God bless.

    1. As it's inside the shower enclosure it's not immediately obvious. LOL! I need to find a colour that will work with the pink to paint above the tiles.

Just spoken to them about a wee damaged issue and they held their hands up. They seem decent.

  4. I didn't know there was a shocking pink shower-wall, now I'm disappointed that we just had sea-green in the cottage!

    1. It's just a B&Q bathroom, they have a ton of amazing splashwall colours! My first choice was a geometric black and white design but it was unavailable.

    1. Thanks, me too! Walls and floors are neutral (white paint is cheaper!) but I have colourful accessories and furniture everywhere else :-)

  6. That pink will look great. I was looking at those splashwall colours recently in B&Q. I didn't know you could get so many colours. We were looking for our kitchen which is due to get done one of these days! I hope it's all done and dusted now and you're able to enjoy it. x

    1. Installation is done! Just need to decide on a wall colour for above the tiles (paint or wallpaper) and flooring. Not all the splashwall colours were available when I ordered in July thanks to Brexit/Covid/the weather *rolls eyes* LOL!

  7. Well I never knew that plug holes were replaceable... My brain is ticking dangerously now. Love the thought of that vibrant pink. It will look stunning once it's all finished.
