SOLD again!!

In a bizarre twist this morning, my buyers pulled out of the house sale.  No reason given.  My estate agent says they've never had anyone pull out of a sale within 24 hours of a legal written offer.  It can happen a few weeks down the line if someone's mortgage isn't approved or their own sale fell through.  But we have no idea why they went to the effort of securing a mortgage and putting in an offer then pulled out so quickly.  Very weird!

BUT, in the rollercoaster that is my life there was a second offer yesterday.  They were told that another higher offer was being considered.  So my estate agent advised me to accept their lower offer this morning (it was £1,000 lower so not much of a difference!) so I did.  And my house was sold again!!  Honestly, you couldn't make this all up!!!!!  My nerves were in shreds!

So I've cast on another sock to calm me down even though I said I wouldn't as I'd get too distracted by it! 🧦 Colours haven't shown up true to life but they're orange and green.  Very bright so a good addition for the leftovers to add colour to my blanket!

  3. Hope this offer holds up! That is harrowing but at least it shows your home is attractive to buyers.

    1. This offer is 'better' as they are currently renters so there's no chain that could break :-) xxx

  6. Oh, gosh - nerve shredding stuff. Mind you, as Chris said above, it shows that your home is buyer friendly. :-)

  8. Tales of the unexpected! So glad you had another decent offer waiting in the wings. I've not had an immediate response to my offer. I think it was a good offer given the amount of work needed. Your sock wool is braw. xxx

    1. My offer on the flat took 2 days for them to decide to accept. Hopefully you'll get an answer soon. Sock yarn is bright and cheerful, just what I need right now :-) xxx

    2. Offer accepted yesterday. My solicitor awaits the formal acceptance letter next week. As this is another instance of a frail person's family selling to pay nursing home fees, I won't fully relax until missives are concluded, in case history repeats itself. So fingers are still crossed until then! xxx

    1. It's so flipping stressful!! I really hope this offer sticks. According to my estate agent only 1 in 10 offers fall through. I've had the 1 already!!! :-) xxx

  10. I've missed all your 'fun' as I've been in Australia for a few weeks visiting my son. I've taken a look back at some of your posts and first off I was so sorry to hear about Emma. It's awful to lose a pet.
Sounds like you've also had a very busy time selling, buying and re selling houses! Fingers crossed this buyer stays with you! I remember the days when in Scotland once you said you'd buy a house it was nigh on impossible to pull out again, I feel unless there are very good reasons (like you find out there's a water pumping station which has been omitted from the photos!) we should go back to those days. Good luck with your search, I hope you find your forever home soon. x

    1. Yes not that long ago a verbal offer was binding. Now anyone can withdraw their offer right up to the point the missives are signed. I'm doing a lot of deep breathing and crossing my fingers!! :-) xxx
